SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of Paul Thennes of Charleston, who passed 
4away on November 7, 2015; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Paul Thennes was born in McHenry on September 21, 
61949 to Edward J. and Agnes M. (nee Guerin) Thennes; he earned 
7an associate's degree from McHenry College and attended Eastern 
8Illinois University for 2 years; he proudly served his country 
9during the Vietnam War with the 36th Engineer Battalion Company 
10D, United States Army; he married Marjorie E. Thoele on June 
1117, 1978 in Teutopolis; and
  
 
12    WHEREAS, Paul Thennes was Seven Hickory Township Road 
13Commissioner for many years before working at Eastern Illinois 
14University as a groundskeeper; and
  
 
15    WHEREAS, Paul Thennes was a member of the American Legion 
16and a Life Member of the Charleston VFW Paul McVey Post 1592; 
17he loved the outdoors and enjoyed hunting; and
  
 
18    WHEREAS, Paul Thennes was preceded in death by his parents; 
19his stepmother, Grace Thennes; and his 2 brothers, Mark and 
20Gere Thennes; and

1    WHEREAS, Paul Thennes is survived by his wife, Margie; his 
22 brothers and their wives, Tom Thennes and Karen and Richard 
3Thennes and Mary; his 2 sisters and their husbands, Martha 
4Peters and Jim and Ann Thennes and Don Hodgkins; and 31 nieces 
5and nephews and their families; therefore, be it
  
 
6    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL 
7ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of 
8Paul Thennes, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, 
9friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further
  
 
10    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
11presented to  the family of  Paul Thennes as an expression of our 
12deepest sympathy.
