SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of Thais S. Orr of McHenry, who passed away 
4on November 7, 2015; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Thais Orr was born in Chicago on December 14, 1914 
6to William and Marie (nee Groenemeyer) Schilling; she lived in 
7Palatine before settling in Round Lake with her husband, Fred 
8Kurz in 1936; and
  
 
9    WHEREAS, Thais Orr and her husband operated Kurz Machine 
10Manufacturing in Round Lake for over 50 years; and
  
 
11    WHEREAS, Thais Orr loved music, playing the organ, and 
12reading poetry; she was a devoted wife, loving mother, 
13cherished grandmother, and doting great-grandmother; and
  
 
14    WHEREAS, Thais Orr was preceded in death by her parents; 
15her husband, Fred Kurz; her sister, Dorothy Devermann; her 
16son-in-law, Kenneth Adams; her granddaughter, Jane; her 
17grandson, William; and her great-grandson, Lucas; and
  
 
18    WHEREAS, Thais Orr is survived by her two daughters, Joyce 
19Adams and Joan (James) Adams; her 6 grandchildren, Jay Adams, 
20Dennis (Kathy) Adams, Christopher (Kristy) Adams, Michael (Lee

1Ann) Adams, David (Michelle) Adams, and Joyce (David) Fuller; 
2her 15 great-grandchildren; and her 4 
3great-great-grandchildren; therefore, be it
  
 
4    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL 
5ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of 
6Thais S. Orr, and extend our sincere condolences to her family, 
7friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further
  
 
8    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
9presented to  the family of  Thais Orr as an expression of our 
10deepest sympathy.
