2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
3 | | learn of the death of Mary Estalene "Essie" Heitzig of Fieldon, |
4 | | who passed away on November 28, 2015; and
|
5 | | WHEREAS, Mary Heitzig was born in Jersey County on August |
6 | | 3, 1924 to Harry and Edna Mae (nee Devening) Lyles; she married |
7 | | Herbert Joseph Heitzig on November 8, 1944 at St. Mary's |
8 | | Catholic Church in Fieldon; and
|
9 | | WHEREAS, Mary Heitzig worked at the International Shoe |
10 | | Factory in Jerseyville; after her marriage, she concentrated on |
11 | | raising her family and running the family trucking business |
12 | | from home; and
|
13 | | WHEREAS, Mary Heitzig enjoyed spending time with her family |
14 | | and going to the gambling boat; and
|
15 | | WHEREAS, Mary Heitzig was preceded in death by her parents; |
16 | | her husband of 54 years, Herbert; her son, Michael Edward |
17 | | Heitzig; her 2 brothers, L.C. Lyles and Herbert Lyles; and her |
18 | | 5 sisters, Myrtle Alice Lyles, Violet Lyles, Ruby Williams, |
19 | | Geraldine Hazel "Pete" Jones, and Marcella "Mickey" Wallace; |

1 | | WHEREAS, Mary Heitzig is survived by her 6 children and |
2 | | their spouses, Sandra and Don Mayberry, Donna and Bill West, |
3 | | Greg and Linda Heitzig, Karen "Worm" Heitzig, Lisa and Bill |
4 | | Darr, and Marla and Randy Russell; her 11 grandchildren and |
5 | | their spouses, Jill and Randy Fraley, Jennifer and John Myers, |
6 | | Leah and Richie Ruyle, Lindsey and John Lane, Luke and Jenny |
7 | | Heitzig, AJ and Nikki Heitzig, Dia and Dale East, Casey and |
8 | | Rick Anderson, Aaron Darr, Adam and LeAnn Russell, and Jarrod |
9 | | and Tina Russell; her 20 great-grandchildren; her 3 brothers, |
10 | | Harry "Dick" Lyles, James Lyles, and Robert Lyles; and her 5 |
11 | | sisters, Lillie Wilson, Cora Hadlock, Nora Jones, Edith Dugger, |
12 | | and Janice O'Brian; therefore, be it

13 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL |
14 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of |
15 | | Mary Estalene "Essie" Heitzig, and extend our sincere |
16 | | condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved |
17 | | her; and be it further

18 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
19 | | presented to the family of Mary Heitzig as an expression of our |
20 | | deepest sympathy.
