SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Glenna Faye Seymour Reed of Jacksonville,
4who passed away on November 27, 2015; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Glenna Reed was born on October 7, 1937 in
6Manchester; her parents were Charles "Henry" and Faye Craddock
7Seymour; she married Harold Reed, whom she later divorced; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Glenna Reed graduated from Jacksonville High
9School in 1955; she subsequently attended Brown's Business
10College and later worked for the State of Illinois; she
11returned to work after her children were of school age as a
12baker at MacMurray College's McClelland Dining Hall and in the
13campus bookstore and mailroom; she also worked as an accountant
14at Wareco for 10 years and at JCPenney for over 40 years; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Glenna Reed was preceded in death by her daughter,
16Mindy Reed DeGroot, and her brother, Donald E. (Joyce)
17Craddock; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Glenna Reed had life-long friendships with
19Phyllis Reynolds, Janet Chamberlain, and Evelyn Sherrin; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Glenna Reed is survived by her son, Scott (Lisa)

1Reed; her grandchildren, Matt (Megan) DeGroot, Brad DeGroot,
2Molly DeGroot (fiance, Tommy Isringhausen), Erin Reed (fiance,
3Tyler Hollister), and Abby Reed; her great-grandchildren, Jace
4and Reed DeGroot; and her nephews, Charles "Chip", Brett, and
5Adam Craddock; therefore, be it
 
6    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
7ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with her
8family and friends, mourn the passing of Glenna Faye Seymour
9Reed; and be it further
 
10    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
11presented to the family of Glenna Reed as an expression of our
12sympathy.
