SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of  Ivadale Foster, who passed away on 
4November 13, 2015; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Ivadale Foster first became a member of the 
6Vermilion County Board in 1980, representing District 8; during 
7her tenure, she was well-regarded by her peers for her great 
8institutional knowledge and her great dedication to the people 
9of Danville; and
  
 
10    WHEREAS, In addition to her work on the Vermilion County 
11Board, Ivadale Foster was active on various committees at Union 
12Missionary Baptist Church, the Bradley-Mayberry American 
13Legion Auxiliary, the Laura Lee Fellowship House, the East 
14Central Illinois Community Action Agency, and the East Central 
15Illinois Agency on Aging; and

  
 
16    WHEREAS, Ivadale Foster was the recipient of numerous 
17honors from many volunteer organizations; she was selected as 
18Vermilion County's Outstanding Senior Volunteer in 1991 by the 
19East Central Illinois Area Agency on Aging; she was named a 
20Woman of Distinction in 2002 by the Green Meadows Girl Scouts 
21Council; she was also named one of 3 outstanding women in the 
22City of Danville in a 1964 poll sponsored by the Danville

1Commercial-News; therefore, be it
  
 
2    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL 
3ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with her 
4family and friends, mourn the passing of Ivadale Foster; and be 
5it further
  
 
6    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
7presented to the family of Ivadale Foster as an expression of 
8our sympathy.
