SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Clifford B. Kiefer of Urbana, who passed
4away on November 6, 2015; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Clifford Kiefer was born on December 31, 1922 in
6Foosland; his parents were George and Bertha (nee Hopkins)
7Kiefer; he married Shirley M. Anderson on January 2, 1949; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Clifford Kiefer grew up in Fisher and graduated
9from Fisher High School; he later served with the United States
10Army in the European Theater during World War II, participating
11in the Central Europe Campaign; he left active service as a
12private first class, subsequently attaining the rank of
13sergeant in the United States Army Reserve; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Clifford Kiefer worked for the Illinois
15Department of Human Services' Division of Mental Health for
16many years until his retirement; he was also an elder of his
17church and played a leadership role in the Supportive Families
18for the Mentally Ill; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Clifford Kiefer enjoyed mystery novels and
20crossword puzzles; and

1    WHEREAS, Clifford Kiefer was preceded in death by his
2parents; his wife, Shirley; his infant son; his brother; and
3his sister; and
 
4    WHEREAS, Clifford Kiefer is survived by his son, Jerry; his
5daughter, Susan; and his sister, Betty Kirby; therefore, be it
 
6    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
7ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his
8family and friends, mourn the passing of Clifford B. Kiefer;
9and be it further
 
10    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
11presented to the family of Clifford Kiefer as an expression of
12our sympathy.
