SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Jessica Burns McNamara, who passed away
4on December 1, 2015; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Jessica McNamara graduated from John Hersey High
6School in 1998 and attended Ball State University, graduating
7with a degree in elementary education in 2002; while attending
8Ball State, she was initiated into the Phi Mu Fraternity and
9was an active member of the Rho Gamma Chapter; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Jessica McNamara spent 2004 living in Japan,
11teaching English to children and adults; in 2006, she moved to
12Louisiana, teaching 4th grade; in 2007, she began teaching at
13Tafton Academy in Hammond, Louisiana, teaching 4th grade there
14for the next 7 years; she was dedicated to her students, making
15sure they all received the best education she could give them;
16and
 
17    WHEREAS, Jessica McNamara loved to read and listen to
18music, especially the Beatles; she also loved to sing, sew, and
19travel to visit friends; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Jessica McNamara was preceded in death by her
21grandparents, Lucien Philip and May (nee Burns) Ordoyne; her

1grandfather, John Patrick McNamara, Sr.; and by her aunt and
2godmother, Laura (nee Ordoyne) Monger; and
 
3    WHEREAS, Jessica McNamara is survived by her parents, John
4Patrick II and Susan (nee Ordoyne) McNamara; her siblings,
5Melissa Garrity McNamara and John Patrick McNamara III; her
6grandmother, Margaret (nee Garrity) McNamara; and many aunts,
7uncles, and cousins; therefore, be it
 
8    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
9ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
10Jessica Burns McNamara, and extend our sincere condolences to
11her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
12further
 
13    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
14presented to the family of Jessica McNamara as an expression of
15our deepest sympathy.
