SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Mozell Bliss of Bloomington, who passed
4away on December 1, 2015; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Mozell Bliss was born in Galatia on May 7, 1925 to
6Anson and Floy Bundy Williams; she married Harlan Eugene Bliss
7on January 26, 1945 at Second Presbyterian Church in
8Bloomington; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Mozell Bliss was an award-winning Realtor for more
10than 40 years; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Mozell Bliss was a member of Second Presbyterian
12Church in Bloomington; she and her husband were the longest
13living married couple at the church; she was an avid golfer and
14enjoyed traveling and playing cards and dominoes with her
15friends; she and her husband designed and built the Four
16Seasons Club in Bloomington and were active volunteers in the
17community; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Mozell Bliss was preceded in death by her parents;
19her sister, LaVern Culpepper; and her brother, Bernard
20Williams; and

1    WHEREAS, Mozell Bliss is survived by her husband, Harlan;
2her children, Bill (Kathryn) Bliss, Cindy (Ted Engdall) Bliss,
3and Kim (Jim) Maffia; her 7 grandchildren, Matthew, Robb, and
4Tim Bliss, Emily (Doug) Holler, Matthew Engdall, and McKenzie
5and Kendall Maffia; her 14 great-grandchildren; and her 3
6nieces, Lynda (Mike) Schilkofski, Barbara Merrill, and Kathy
7Wey; therefore, be it
 
8    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
9ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
10Mozell Bliss, and extend our sincere condolences to her family,
11friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further
 
12    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
13presented to the family of Mozell Bliss as an expression of our
14deepest sympathy.
