SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Richard R. Harris of McHenry, who passed
4away on December 6, 2015; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Richard Harris was born in Chicago on June 30,
61944 to Robert and Agnes (nee Woehler) Harris; he graduated
7from Lane Technical High School in Chicago; he served in the
8United States Army during the Vietnam War from January of 1964
9to December of 1966, receiving the Vietnam Service and Campaign
10Medals; he married Cynthia Schultz on August 17, 1968 in
11McHenry; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Richard Harris worked as a conductor on the
13Chicago and Northwestern Railroad; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Richard Harris was an avid reader and train
15collector; he enjoyed train history and reading Clive Cussler
16and Tom Clancy novels; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Richard Harris was preceded by his parents and his
18brother, Rex Harris; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Richard Harris is survived by his wife, Cynthia;
20his 2 daughters, Meredith (Donald) Sena and Nancy (Frank)

2Mineau) Harris and Tonya and Katrina Kowalski; his brothers;
3his sisters-in-law; and many nieces and nephews; therefore, be

5    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
6ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
7Richard R. Harris, and extend our sincere condolences to his
8family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
9further
 
10    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
11presented to the family of Richard Harris as an expression of
12our deepest sympathy.
