SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of  Nicholas S. "Nick" Howard of Trilla, who 
4passed away on December 24, 2015; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Nicholas Howard was born on October 14, 1929 in 
6Tompkinsville, Kentucky; his parents were Cass and Lillie (nee 
7Brown) Howard; he married Wanda J. Strader on April 15, 1950 in 
8Mattoon; and
  
 
9    WHEREAS, Nicholas Howard retired from the Blaw-Knox 
10Manufacturing Company of Mattoon after 35 years of service; he 
11was also a former employee of the Brown Shoe Company in Mattoon 
12and the New York Central Railroad; and
  
 
13    WHEREAS, Nicholas Howard was a member of the Buck Grove 
14Community Church of rural Mattoon, Wabash Masonic Lodge #179 
15Ancient Free and Accepted Masons, and the Order of the Eastern 
16Star Lodge; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Nicholas Howard enjoyed being with his family and 
18friends, the outdoors, camping, fishing, and hunting; and
  
 
19    WHEREAS, Nicholas Howard was preceded in death by his 
20parents and his brothers, Ivan and Charles L. Howard; and

1    WHEREAS, Nicholas Howard is survived by his wife of 65 
2years, Wanda J. Howard; his son, Terry (Johnna) Howard; his 
3daughter, Debra (Pastor Mitch) Ramey; his sisters, Vida Croft 
4and Zada Jackson; his 6 grandchildren; and his 5 
5great-grandchildren; therefore, be it
  
 
6    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL 
7ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his 
8family and friends, mourn the passing of Nicholas S. "Nick" 
9Howard; and be it further
  
 
10    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
11presented to the family of Nicholas Howard as an expression of 
12our sympathy.
