SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of  Helen Scheible Streit of Waukegan, who 
4passed away on November 30, 2015; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Helen Streit was born on February 20, 1929 in 
6Chicago and was a lifelong resident of the area; her parents 
7were George and Helen Scheible; she married Thomas J. Streit on 
8August 25, 1956; and
  
 
9    WHEREAS, Helen Streit received her Bachelor of Arts in 
10Education in 1951 from DePaul University; in 1953, she received 
11her Master of Arts in Psychology from Northwestern University; 
12in 1954, she received her Ph.D. in Psychology from Northwestern 
13University; and
  
 
14    WHEREAS, Helen Streit retired from DePaul University in 
15Chicago where she was a psychology professor for many years; 
16and
 
17    WHEREAS, Helen Streit was a member of St. Dismas Parish in 
18Waukegan and Sigma XI, an Honor Scientific Society; and
  
 
19    WHEREAS, Helen Streit is preceded in death by her parents 
20and her sister, Mary Jane Scheible; and

1    WHEREAS, Helen Streit is survived by her husband of 59 
2years, Thomas; her children, Thomas G. Streit, Karol Streit 
3Rini, James M. Streit, and Michael G. Streit; and her 
4grandchildren, Monica, Alyson, Macy, and Alex Streit and Sydney 
5and Gabrielle Rini; therefore, be it
  
 
6    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL 
7ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with her 
8family and friends, mourn the passing of Helen Scheible Streit; 
9and be it further
  
 
10    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
11presented to the family of Helen Streit as an expression of our 
12sympathy.
