SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Lyndal L. Herschelman of Carlinville, who
4passed away on January 19, 2016; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Lyndal Herschelman was born in Litchfield to
6Harold and Lora Lee (nee Corlew) Herschelman on July 2, 1942;
7he graduated from Carlinville High School in 1960 and married
8Mary Rosentreter in Carlinville at Ss. Mary & Joseph Catholic
9Church on July 29, 1961; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Lyndal Herschelman worked for AT&T for 13 years
11before returning to Carlinville to help run the family farm; he
12retired in 2012 from Drew Ford in Gillespie after working for
13several area car dealerships; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Lyndal Herschelman was a member of Ss. Mary and
15Joseph Catholic Church in Carlinville and the Carlinville Elk's
16Lodge #1412, where he served as the Exalted Ruler in 1984 and
17District Governor in 1992; he served as the Chairman of the
18Elk's National Foundation and bowled on the Elk's bowling
19league, participating in several State and national bowling
20tournaments; he also served as a board member on the Macoupin
21County Board; and

1    WHEREAS, Lyndal Herschelman enjoyed relaxing and spending
2time at the Lake of the Ozarks with his family; and
 
3    WHEREAS, Lyndal Herschelman was preceded in death by his
4parents; his daughter, Amy Herschelman; his grandson, Nicholas
5Groves; and his brother, Harry Herschelman; and
 
6    WHEREAS, Lyndal Herschelman is survived by his wife of 54
7years, Mary; his son, Steve Herschelman; his daughter, Kathy
8(Bill) Groves; his 4 grandchildren, Jennifer (Don) Allison,
9Cody Kay, Marcus Herschelman, and Austin Groves; his 2
10great-grandchildren; his brother, Fred (Phyllis) Herschelman;
11his sister-in-law, Mary Herschelman; and several nieces and
12nephews; therefore, be it
 
13    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
14ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
15Lyndal L. Herschelman, and extend our sincere condolences to
16his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
17further
 
18    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
19presented to the family of Lyndal Herschelman as an expression
20of our deepest sympathy.
