SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Richard R. "Rick" Groch, formerly of
4Mount Prospect, who passed away on January 3, 2016; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Richard Groch was born in Chicago to Harry and
6Jessie (nee Breski) Groch on June 6, 1930; he served in the
7military during the Korean War and married Marie LaBellarte in
8Chicago on May 16, 1954; he graduated from DeVry Technical
9Institute in 1958; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Richard Groch spent 37 years as an electrician
11with Illinois Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 134 and a
12small business owner as an electrical contractor; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Richard Groch served his community as an Elk Grove
14Village Lion, serving as club President and District Treasurer;
15his lifelong hobby was HO scale model railroading; he was an
16Elmhurst Wagon Master and Del Webb Railroad Club member; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Richard Groch was preceded in death by his
18parents; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Richard Groch is survived by his loving wife of 61
20years, Marie; his children, Richard, Jr. (Joyce), Jeffrey

1(Cyndee), David (Cheryl), Gayle (John) Wendt, and Tracey
2(Gavin) Hamilton; his grandchildren, Kevin, Ryan, Jessie,
3Daniel, Jeremy, Clare, and Joe Groch, Justin (Emily) Craddock,
4and Bradley Craddock; and many nieces and nephews; therefore,
5be it
 
6    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
7ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
8Richard R. "Rick" Groch, and extend our sincere condolences to
9his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
10further
 
11    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
12presented to the family of Richard Groch as an expression of
13our deepest sympathy.
