SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of William Jefferson "Bill" Heatherly of
4Silvis, who passed away on December 31, 2015; and
 
5    WHEREAS, William Heatherly was born on August 1, 1929 to
6Thomas Jefferson and Julia Marie Coppock Heatherly; he served
7in the military during the Korean War and married Barbara Ann
8Vaughn on November 14, 1953; and
 
9    WHEREAS, William Heatherly was employed at East Moline
10Metal Products as a brake press operator and called himself
11"Mr. Fix It"; and
 
12    WHEREAS, William Heatherly took walks at the mall and
13enjoyed having coffee at Hardee's; he liked having a beer with
14his buddies and loved working on his cars, which were his
15prized possessions; most of all, he adored spending time with
16his grandchildren; and
 
17    WHEREAS, William Heatherly was preceded in death by his
18wife, Barbara; his parents; his companion, Betty DeBruine; and
19his sisters, Nella Brooke and Betty Norris; and
 
20    WHEREAS, William Heatherly is survived by his daughters,

1Ginger (Josh) Lane and Dorraine (Dwayne) Young; his sisters,
2Doris Buchanan and Charlotte Brenneise; his grandchildren,
3Donald, Kristine, and Kristopher Harmon, Dylan Lane, Brit
4Atchison, and Tommy and Holly; and his great-grandchildren,
5Isaiah and Mathia; therefore, be it
 
6    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
7ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
8William Jefferson "Bill" Heatherly, and extend our sincere
9condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved
10him; and be it further
 
11    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
12presented to the family of William Heatherly as an expression
13of our deepest sympathy.
