SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of Melvin R. "Mel" Bremenkamp of Rock 
4Island, who passed away on December 23, 2015; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Melvin Bremenkamp was born in Colby, Kansas to 
6George and Anna Spielman Bremenkamp on August 28, 1937; he 
7served in the United States Army and married Joanna Pierce in 
8Bettendorf, Iowa on October 25, 1980; and
  
 
9    WHEREAS, Melvin Bremenkamp was a systems analyst at the 
10Rock Island Arsenal for many years, retiring in 1993; and
  
 
11    WHEREAS, Melvin Bremenkamp was a member of Riverside United 
12Methodist Church in  Moline; he was an avid Iowa Hawkeyes fan; 
13and
  
 
14    WHEREAS, Melvin Bremenkamp was preceded in death by his 
15parents; his daughter, Keri Bremenkamp; his sisters, Carol 
16Garrett and Rosemary Shebel; and an infant brother; and
  
 
17    WHEREAS, Melvin Bremenkamp is survived by his wife of 35 
18years, Joanna; his sons, Gregory Bremenkamp and Matthew (Gena 
19Daniels) Bremenkamp; his stepdaughter, Lisa Regan; his 
20stepson, Keith Pierce; his 12 grandchildren; his

1great-grandchild; his siblings, Glenn Bremenkamp, Dale 
2Bremenkamp, and Betty Bremenkamp; and his brother-in-law and 
3sister-in-law, Steve and Carol Wilson; therefore, be it
  
 
4    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL 
5ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of 
6Melvin R. "Mel" Bremenkamp, and extend our sincere condolences 
7to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be 
8it further
  
 
9    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
10presented to  the family of  Melvin Bremenkamp as an expression 
11of our deepest sympathy.
