| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 | | learn of the death of Rodney E. Bruner of East Moline, who |
| 4 | | passed away on January 15, 2016; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Rodney Bruner was born in Moline to Richard and |
| 6 | | Lucille Strother Bruner on December 29, 1933; he graduated from |
| 7 | | Moline High School, where he played 3 sports, including |
| 8 | | quarterback for the football team, and was the class President; |
| 9 | | he served in the United States Army and was stationed in |
| 10 | | Orleans, France; he married Barbara Jean Lutz in Rock Island on |
| 11 | | January 24, 1959; and
|
| 12 | | WHEREAS, Rodney Bruner worked in the Personnel Department |
| 13 | | at John Deere, retiring in 1987; and
|
| 14 | | WHEREAS, Rodney Bruner was a member of Christ United |
| 15 | | Methodist Church in East Moline; he was an advisor for Junior |
| 16 | | Achievement, served as Membership Chairman for the Willow |
| 17 | | Springs Swim Club, coached baseball for the Babe Ruth League |
| 18 | | and the East Moline American Legion, and served on the Board of |
| 19 | | Directors for the East Moline Visiting Nurses; and
|
| 20 | | WHEREAS, Rodney Bruner was preceded in death by his |
| 21 | | parents; and
