SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Vince Anthony Clark of Chicago, who passed away on January 16, 2016; and

WHEREAS, Vince Clark was born in Chicago to Carolyn and Henry Clark on February 25, 1968; he attended John Altgeld Elementary School and graduated from Simeon High School in 1982; he later attended DeVry University; and

WHEREAS, Vince Clark joined Central Missionary Baptist Church at the age of 13 in 1981; he began working for the Faith Community of St. Sabina's summer youth program; he worked after school and on weekends until he finished school, when he became a full-time employee; he later became assistant to Father Michael L. Pfleger, Pastor of St. Sabina Parish, with whom he was also a very close friend to for more than 34 years; and

WHEREAS, Vince Clark married the love of his life, Cheryl Moss on July 19, 1997; and

WHEREAS, Vince Clark was an avid Chicago White Sox fan and attended many games with his son; he also coached his son's baseball team; and

WHEREAS, Vince Clark was preceded in death by his parents; and

WHEREAS, Vince Clark is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Cheryl; his son, Chazz; his mother-in-law, Geraldine Moss; his siblings, Derrick, Glenn, Brian, Marvin (Nadine), Craig (Shirley), Shawn (Melissa), Christina, Angela (Alex), and Dorenda; his 2 brothers-in-law, Derrick Moss (Deborah) and Fred (Deborah); his sister-in-law, Debra Lawson; his best friend, Pastor Michael Pfleger; and countless family members and friends; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Vince Anthony Clark, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Vince Clark as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
