| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 | | learn of the death of Lynn Foster, formerly of Danville, who |
| 4 | | passed away on January 2, 2016; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Lynn Foster was born in 1949 on a United States |
| 6 | | Air Force base in Japan; she attended Purdue University and |
| 7 | | settled in Danville; and
|
| 8 | | WHEREAS, Lynn Foster was the first woman elected as |
| 9 | | Vermilion County Clerk in 1990; she was reelected for 6 |
| 10 | | consecutive terms, leaving office in 2014 after 24 years of |
| 11 | | service; and
|
| 12 | | WHEREAS, Lynn Foster was a staple of the Democratic Party |
| 13 | | in the area; she served as a central committee person for the |
| 14 | | State Democratic party and as a delegate to the Democratic |
| 15 | | National Convention; she was the first woman elected as a |
| 16 | | voting member of the Danville Township Trustees; and |
| 17 | | WHEREAS, Lynn Foster was an Executive Board Member and past |
| 18 | | President of the Breakfast Kiwanis, a volunteer at CRIS Senior |
| 19 | | Services and the Westville Senior Center, and a Board Member |
| 20 | | for the Danville Area Food Pantry and Catholic Charities; in |
| 21 | | 2012, she was one of 6 area women the Girl Scouts honored as a |
