| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 | | learn of the death of Darlene F. Sass of Barrington, who passed |
| 4 | | away on January 23, 2016; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Darlene Sass was born on August 11, 1919; she was |
| 6 | | a lifelong resident of Barrington; her grandfather, a |
| 7 | | carpenter, emigrated from Germany and was a founding member and |
| 8 | | settler of Barrington; he built and ran the general store at |
| 9 | | the corner of Cook and Station Streets; and
|
| 10 | | WHEREAS, Darlene Sass was a member of the Women's Auxiliary |
| 11 | | for the Knights Templar for over 60 years; she was also a |
| 12 | | Charter Member of Barrington Area Book Review Club and taught |
| 13 | | the Joy Sunday School class at Salem United Methodist Church; |
| 14 | | and
|
| 15 | | WHEREAS, Darlene Sass was preceded in death by her husband |
| 16 | | of 54 years, Henry Sass, Jr.; her sister, Deloris Homuth; her |
| 17 | | brother, Kenneth; and her son-in-law, Charles Neumann; and
|
| 18 | | WHEREAS, Darlene Sass is survived by her daughter, Karla |
| 19 | | Neumann; her son, Charles "Chuck" Sass; her grandchildren, |
| 20 | | Jennifer (Clay) Leap and Bradley (Kali) Sass; and her |
| 21 | | great-grandchildren, Brayden, Maylen, and Grady Sass; |
