SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Elizabeth Ann "Liz" Dechow of Abingdon,
4who passed away on January 14, 2016; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Elizabeth Dechow was born in Geneseo to Larry
6David and Sue Ann Nimrick Traman, Sr. on December 24, 1975; she
7graduated from Abingdon High School in 1994 and from Carl
8Sandburg College with a degree in nursing, where she was
9recognized for compassionate care during her clinicals; she
10married David Dechow at the Congregational Church in Abingdon
11in June of 1996; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Elizabeth Dechow was first employed as a nurse at
13Galesburg Cottage Hospital; she then moved to Bridgeway, where
14she was promoted to Residential Coordinator, a position usually
15held by persons with a higher college degree; during her 9
16years with Bridgeway, she received an award from the National
17Committee for Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve; she
18most recently worked as a nurse at Dr. Robert Currie's office
19and for Community Health Services in Galesburg; and
 
20    WHEREAS, For most of Elizabeth Dechow's life, she attended
21the Assembly of God Church; for the last decade, she was a
22member of the First Congregational Church; and

1    WHEREAS, Elizabeth Dechow was affectionately known as
2"Twiggy","Trixie", or "Wibidis" to her parents and siblings, as
3"Liz" to her many friends and colleagues, as "Bethbug" to her
4family up north, as "Mom" to her 2 sons, and as "Lovely Little
5Lizzy" to her best friend and husband; and
 
6    WHEREAS, Elizabeth Dechow is survived by her husband,
7David; her 2 sons, Sam and Ben; her parents; her sister, Dawn
8(Rick) Ginther; her brother, Larry Traman, Jr.; her
9mother-in-law and father-in-law, Sue and Rick Dechow; her
10sisters-in-law, Suellen Dechow and Emily Dechow; her 2
11brothers-in-law, Doug (Anna Leahy) Dechow and Richard (Denise)
12Dechow; and her nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and
13their families; therefore, be it
 
14    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
15ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
16Elizabeth Ann "Liz" Dechow, and extend our sincere condolences
17to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be
18it further
 
19    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
20presented to the family of Elizabeth Dechow as an expression of
21our deepest sympathy.
