SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of Debra Sue Johnson of Springfield, who 
4passed away on January 24, 2016; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Debra Johnson was born in Springfield to Wilkins 
6and Pauline Frances Cox Barbee on November 5, 1957; she 
7graduated from Springfield High School in 1975 and married Jeff 
8W. Johnson in Springfield on August 23, 1980; and
  
 
9    WHEREAS, Debra Johnson worked on the Illinois Senate 
10Republican Staff as a secretary and legislative assistant for 
11members of the General Assembly; she retired after 33 years of 
12dedicated service in 2012; and
  
 
13    WHEREAS, Debra Johnson was a member of St. John's Lutheran 
14Church in Springfield; and
  
 
15    WHEREAS, Debra Johnson was preceded in death by her parents 
16and her brother, Harold Eugene Barbee; and
  
 
17    WHEREAS, Debra Johnson is survived by her husband, Jeff; 
18her 2 sons, Christopher William (Julie Ann) Johnson and David 
19Scott Johnson; her brother, Dr. Charles Leroy (Margaret) 
20Barbee; her sister, Sharon Kay (Jeffrey) Beierman; and her

1sister-in-law, Joanne Barbee; therefore, be it
  
 
2    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL 
3ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of 
4Debra Sue Johnson, and extend our sincere condolences to her 
5family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it 
6further
  
 
7    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
8presented to  the family of  Debra Johnson as an expression of 
9our deepest sympathy.
