SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of  Margaret Ruth Dorsey of Waukegan, who 
4passed away on January 18, 2016; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Margaret Dorsey was born on September 25, 1924 in 
6Florence, Alabama; her parents were George and Olivia 
7Hollingsworth; she resided in North Chicago and Waukegan for 77 
8years; and
  
 
9    WHEREAS, Margaret Dorsey retired from American Motors 
10after 30 years of employment; after retiring, she became a 
11certified manicurist; and
  
 
12    WHEREAS, Margaret Dorsey enjoyed fishing, rummage sales, 
13cooking, casino trips, gardening, and spending time with her 
14family; and
  
 
15    WHEREAS, Margaret Dorsey was preceded in death by her 
16husband, James Dorsey, Sr.; her parents; her son, Doctor James 
17Dorsey, Jr.; her daughter, Joan Winston; her brothers, George 
18and Robert Hollingsworth; and her grandchildren, Yvonne 
19Winston, Abray Dorsey, and Jocelyn Dorsey; and
  
 
20    WHEREAS, Margaret Dorsey is survived by her daughter,

1Frances (Patrick) Tompkins; her sons, Curtis (Barbara) Dorsey 
2and Marvin (Brenda) Dorsey; her brother, Fred Hollingsworth; 
3her nieces, Brianne (Shawn) Rhyner and Arnita (Michael) 
4Johnson; her nephews, Melvin (Catherine) Craigen and Alvin 
5(Ernestine) Craigen; her grandchildren, Belinda, Patrick, 
6Tinya, Jerine, Catherine, Barbara, Curtis II, Jamie, Derrick, 
7Kelley, Tamara, and Khershuana; her 14 great-grandchildren; 13 
8great-great-grandchildren; and her many other relatives and 
9friends; therefore, be it
  
 
10    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL 
11ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with her 
12family and friends, mourn the passing of Margaret Ruth Dorsey; 
13and be it further
  
 
14    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
15presented to the family of Margaret Dorsey as an expression of 
16our sympathy.
