SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Anthony "Tony" Palmieri, Jr., who passed
4away on January 27, 2016 at the age of 81; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Anthony Palmieri, Jr. was born in Kingston,
6Tennessee to Anthony and Bonnie (nee White) Palmieri; his
7family moved to Highwood and then to Libertyville, where he
8finished high school; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Anthony Palmieri, Jr. began his career as a
10bricklayer at the age of 17, working for his Uncle Homer; after
1117 years, he took a job with JAC Masonry, where he remained
12until his retirement; during that time, he supervised the
13masonry construction of numerous buildings in Lake and McHenry
14Counties; he was a 64-year member of Brick and Stone Masons
15Local 20 of Lake County; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Anthony Palmieri, Jr. enjoyed 19 years of
17well-deserved retirement, where his hobbies included
18woodworking, golf, and travel; he spent time in retirement at
19his homes in Park City and Florida; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Anthony Palmieri, Jr. was preceded in death by his
21wives, Dolores "Babe" (nee Weidner) and Lyla (nee Hadad); his

1daughter-in-law, Patty; and his grandson, Michael Palmieri;
2and
 
3    WHEREAS, Anthony Palmieri, Jr. is survived by his children,
4Gregory, Toni Lynn (Mark) DaMore, Daniel (Donna), and Thomas
5(Becky); his grandchildren, Luke DaMore, Jennifer (Doug)
6Michael, Mark (Brittany) Palmieri, Matthew Palmieri, Dolores
7Palmieri, and Jonathan Palmieri; his great-grandchildren,
8Vincent Palmieri and Gianna Palmieri; his stepchild, Aprile
9(Terry) McAndrews; his step-grandchildren, Jenny Yates and
10Matt (Kristin) Yates; and his great-step-granddaughter,
11Eleanor Yates; therefore, be it
 
12    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
13ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
14Anthony "Tony" Palmieri, Jr., and extend our sincere
15condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved
16him; and be it further
 
17    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
18presented to the family of Anthony Palmieri, Jr. as an
19expression of our deepest sympathy.
