SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Arthur "Butch" Wakefield III; and
 
4    WHEREAS, Arthur Wakefield III was born in Waukegan to
5Arthur and Mary (nee Davis) Wakefield on March 2, 1945; he
6graduated from North Chicago High School in 1963; he enlisted
7in the United States Army in 1965 and was honorably discharged
8in 1966 due to an injury in the line of duty; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Arthur Wakefield III was employed at the Veterans
10Affairs Administration in North Chicago, where he worked as a
11dental technician for over 30 years, receiving numerous
12accolades; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Arthur Wakefield III enjoyed getting up early
14every day and either visiting family or making his rounds to
15his favorite breakfast hangouts, Aunt Millie's or the Paragon
16in Waukegan; he was known for stopping by and visiting family
17members bright and early on the weekends, bringing great
18conversation and maybe some donuts and drinking a pot of coffee
19while he was there; in 2006, he and his wife moved to
20Sevierville, Tennessee to enjoy a peaceful retirement at the
21base of the beautiful Smokey Mountains; and

1    WHEREAS, Arthur Wakefield III was preceded in death by his
2parents and his sister, Sandra Rush; and
 
3    WHEREAS, Arthur Wakefield III is survived by his loving
4wife of 30 years, Sarah (Jackie) Pettry Wakefield; his
5daughter, Brenda (Norma) Pettry; his son, Kyle (Terry)
6Wakefield; his sister, Wanda (Chris) Childs; his sister, Joyce
7Wakefield; and numerous other family members whom he loved;
8therefore, be it
 
9    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
10ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
11Arthur "Butch" Wakefield III, and extend our sincere
12condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved
13him; and be it further
 
14    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
15presented to the family of Arthur Wakefield III as an
16expression of our deepest sympathy.
