SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of Helen Koper, who passed away on November 
425, 2015; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Helen Koper was born in North Chicago on May 1, 
61923; and
  
 
7    WHEREAS, Helen Koper, along with her husband, owned and 
8operated Koper Foods in the Old Polish section of North Chicago 
9for 32 years; and
  
 
10    WHEREAS, Helen Koper loved to cook and had many favorite 
11polish dishes that she prepared; she kept an immaculate home 
12and was known for cleaning all the surrounding yards and 
13streets; she loved the outdoors; she made sure that her 
14appearance was always top notch and loved getting her nails 
15polished and her hair done; most of all, she loved spending 
16time with her family and friends; and
  
 
17    WHEREAS, Helen Koper was preceded in death by her husband 
18of 70 years, Steve Koper; and
  
 
19    WHEREAS, Helen Koper is survived by her loving son and 
20caregiver, Thomas Koper; her loving son, Steve Koper; her 5

1grandchildren, Mike Koper, Cathy Miscenic, Laura (Ralph) 
2Strathmann, Joseph (Carleigh) Koper, and Mandy (Shane) 
3Gruchow; her 9 great-grandchildren; and many other relatives 
4and friends who will miss her sense of humor and kind soul; 
5therefore, be it
  
 
6    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL 
7ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of 
8Helen Koper, and extend our sincere condolences to her family, 
9friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further
  
 
10    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
11presented to  the family of  Helen Koper as an expression of our 
12deepest sympathy.
