SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Raymond Hernandez of Silvis, who passed
4away on February 11, 2016; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Raymond Hernandez was born in Moline to Natalia
6Ramos on February 19, 1937; he graduated from Alleman High
7School in 1955 and served as a medic in the United States Air
8Force from 1956 to 1959; he married Carmen Herrera in Cambridge
9on March 31, 1965; and
 
10    WHEREAS, After his service in the Air Force, Raymond
11Hernandez went to work for International Harvester, retiring in
121993; he went on to further his education at Black Hawk College
13in accounting and then went to work for Derby Tech Computers
14and the East Moline Housing Authority; he finished his working
15career with Milan Auto Auction; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Raymond Hernandez served on the board of directors
17at IH Mississippi Valley Credit Union; he loved shopping,
18working on cars, dancing, golfing, traveling, and taking care
19of his birds; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Raymond Hernandez was preceded in death by his
21mother and his brothers, David and Nando; and

1    WHEREAS, Raymond Hernandez is survived by his wife, Carmen;
2his children, Belinda Guerrero, Michael Guerrero, David
3(Linda) Guerrero, Claire (Edward) Flinn, and Deborah Anderson;
4his grandchildren, Joshua, Monica, Raymond, C.J., Chelsea,
5Madison, and Connor; his 3 great-grandchildren; his siblings,
6Nick Ramos, Edward Ramos, Ralph (Dawn) Ramos, Mary Ramos, Rudy
7(Jackie) Ramos, Bernie (Dan) LaFever, Maggie (Kelly) McGuffy,
8and Eva Ramos; therefore, be it
 
9    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
10ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
11Raymond Hernandez, and extend our sincere condolences to his
12family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
13further
 
14    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
15presented to the family of Raymond Hernandez as an expression
16of our deepest sympathy.
