SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of  Louis "John" Poi of Batavia, who passed 
4away on February 13, 2016; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Louis Poi was born on March 12, 1935 in 
6Winchester; his parents were Louis and Rosa (nee Dussard) Poi; 
7and
  
 
8    WHEREAS, Louis Poi was a United States Navy veteran; and
  
 
9    WHEREAS, Louis Poi was a member of the American Legion, the 
10Order of the Eastern Star, the Knights Templar, the Medinah 
11Shriners, the James C. Lovig, Sr. Council, the Fox River Royal 
12Arch, the Aurora Commandery, the WP Club of Chicago, KYCH, and 
13the Batavia Vikings; he was also a Master Mason; and
  
 
14    WHEREAS, Louis Poi was preceded in death by his parents and 
15his 9 brothers; and
  
 
16    WHEREAS, Louis Poi is survived by his wife, Juanita Poi; 
17his daughter, Roxanne Russ; his sons, Mark Poi and Warren (Roz) 
18Poi; his 4 granddaughters; his 2 great-granddaughters; his 
19stepdaughters, Marla (Lewis) Kreager and Gina Baley (Cary 
20Kerger); his stepson, Brian (Stacy) Baley; his 5

1step-grandchildren; and his 5 step-great-grandchildren; 
2therefore, be it
  
 
3    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL 
4ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his 
5family and friends, mourn the passing of Louis "John" Poi; and 
6be it further
  
 
7    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
8presented to the family of Louis Poi as an expression of our 
9sympathy.
