SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Jean Leyrer of Harvard, who passed away
4on February 16, 2016; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Jean Leyrer was born on May 24, 1927 in Chicago;
6her parents were John Adolph and Bessiebell (nee Currie)
7Boersema; she married Robert Harold Leyrer, Sr. on April 16,
81949 in Lombard; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Jean Leyrer was a homemaker; she was also a
10bookkeeper, an employee at U.C. Light and Meyer's Produce, and
11a school bus driver in Crystal Lake for Districts 47 and 155;
12and
 
13    WHEREAS, Jean Leyrer was a member of the Alden United
14Methodist Church, the Jobs Daughters, where she was a past
15Queen, and a Bridge group; she also taught Sunday school at
16Alden United Methodist Church and Crystal Lake United Methodist
17Church; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Jean Leyrer enjoyed gardening, knitting, sewing,
19making clothes for her children, and traveling up north to the
20family cottage; and

1    WHEREAS, Jean Leyrer was preceded in death by her parents
2and her husband, Robert; and
 
3    WHEREAS, Jean Leyrer is survived by her children, Robert H.
4(Charlene) Leyrer, Jr., Janet L. Bach, Ellen J. (Brian)
5Schultz, Howard (Karen) Leyrer, and Jeffrey A. (Michele)
6Leyrer; 17 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and her
7lifelong friend, Joan Anderson; therefore, be it
 
8    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
9ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with her
10family and friends, mourn the passing of Jean Leyrer; and be it
11further
 
12    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
13presented to the family of Jean Leyrer as an expression of our
14sympathy.
