| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 | | learn of the death of Harold "Hal" Baker of Woodstock, who |
| 4 | | passed away on November 28, 2015; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Harold Baker was born on October 2, 1941 in |
| 6 | | Woodstock; his parents were George and Alice Baker; he married |
| 7 | | Crystal Scott on February 23, 1962; and
|
| 8 | | WHEREAS, Harold Baker went to school in Woodstock and |
| 9 | | continued his education at Trinidad College in Colorado and at |
| 10 | | Northern Illinois University; after 4 years of service in the |
| 11 | | United States Air Force, he returned to Woodstock and worked in |
| 12 | | sales for many years, finally opening his own business on Main |
| 13 | | Street called Sound Advice and later America's Best |
| 14 | | Audio-Video; he then spent many years as the elected Assessor |
| 15 | | for Dorr Township until his retirement; and
|
| 16 | | WHEREAS, Harold Baker had a lifelong interest in hunting |
| 17 | | and fishing and especially enjoyed spending summers in |
| 18 | | Wisconsin and winters in Texas; and
|
| 19 | | WHEREAS, Harold Baker was a member of the Woodstock Jaycees |
| 20 | | and coached their award winning shooting team; he volunteered |
| 21 | | as a Little League coach, a hunter safety instructor, and an |
