SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Rosalyn Kollenkark of McHenry, who passed
4away on November 23, 2015; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Rosalyn Kollenkark was born on October 4, 1924 on
6a farm 2 miles north of Johnsburg; her parents were Jacob P.
7and Mary Miller; she married Harold Kollenkark on January 17,
81945 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Johnsburg; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Rosalyn Kollenkark and her husband farmed in
10Johnsburg until November of 1984, when they moved to McHenry;
11she then worked in retail for 15 years before she retired; she
12also volunteered at Centegra HealthCare and The Pink Door
13retail store for 8 1/2 years and as an election judge for
14several years; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Rosalyn Kollenkark was a lifetime member of St.
16John the Baptist Catholic Church in Johnsburg, where she was a
17member of Temple Treasures and was a minister of compassion;
18she was a member of Blessed Virgin Sodality, St. Agatha's Court
19777 before transferring to McHenry Court 659; she was also a
20member of the Fraternal Order of Catholic Foresters, McHenry
21Senior Citizens, and Whispering Hills Senior Club and
22volunteered at FISH of McHenry; and

1    WHEREAS, Rosalyn Kollenkark was preceded in death by her
2husband, Harold; her daughter, Judy Tomlinson; her parents; her
3sisters, Mildred Skillman and Helen Heider; and her 7 brothers
4and sisters-in-law; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Rosalyn Kollenkark is survived by her children,
6Gerald L. (Carol) Kollenkark and Mary Jane (Gregory) Rowlett;
7her grandchildren, Richard, Jr. and Bob Tomlinson and Kevin,
8Brian, Jacob, Eric, and Katelyn Rowlett; her 2
9great-grandchildren; her step-grandchild; and her step
10great-grandchild; therefore, be it
 
11    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
12ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with her
13family and friends, mourn the passing of Rosalyn Kollenkark;
14and be it further
 
15    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
16presented to the family of Rosalyn Kollenkark as an expression
17of our sympathy.
