SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Stephen M. Walrack of Spring Grove, who
4passed away on January 26, 2016; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Stephen Walrack was born on May 29, 1941 in
6Lewistown, Montana; his parents were Dewey and Helen (nee
7Mikich) Walrack; he grew up on a farm in Wisconsin and was a
8graduate of Blanchardville High School; he moved to Illinois a
9couple of years later and was drafted into the United States
10Army in 1963; he spent 2 years in Germany and attained the rank
11of Medic/Specialist E-5; and
 
12    WHEREAS, After his discharge, Stephen Walrack settled in
13Buffalo Grove, where he worked as a printer and became a
14firefighter with the Skokie Fire Department; he retired from
15the fire department after 19 years and worked as a printer
16full-time until retiring in 2002; he then moved to Spring
17Grove, where he thoroughly enjoyed working in his yard and
18helping neighbors beautify their yards; he also enjoyed
19spending time with his family and friends and watching sports,
20particularly the Packers; and
 
21    WHEREAS, Stephen Walrack was preceded in death by his
22parents; his brothers, Stanley and Matthew; his grandson,

1Parker; and his niece, Sandi; and
 
2    WHEREAS, Stephen Walrack is survived by his wife of 35
3years, Jean; his children, Michael Walrack, Michael Wolfsmith,
4William Wolfsmith, and Mary Ellen (Jeffrey) Sullivan; his
5grandchildren, Alex, Alyssa, Michael, Briana, Caitlin, Sean,
6and Summer; his great-grandchildren, Troy and Owen; his
7siblings, Gloria (the late Vince) Mastandrea, Keith (Sylvia)
8Walrack, and Kathryn Diamond; and his many nieces and nephews;
9therefore, be it
 
10    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
11ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his
12family and friends, mourn the passing of Stephen M. Walrack;
13and be it further
 
14    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
15presented to the family of Stephen Walrack as an expression of
16our sympathy.
