SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Carol A. "Chippy" Sweeney of Woodstock,
4who passed away on January 9, 2016; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Carol Sweeney was born in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania
6on July 21, 1942 and raised in Chippewa Township, Pennsylvania;
7she attended school in Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Carol Sweeney worked and managed several floral
9departments for Jewel Foods for over 15 years until
10semi-retiring; she then worked in several gardening areas at
11Flowerwood in Crystal Lake until her retirement; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Carol Sweeney enjoyed gardening and maintained
13several gardens at her home and her campsite; she enjoyed
14volunteering throughout the years at the Woodstock Moose Lodge;
15she served on the Board of Officers for the Women of the Moose;
16she was elevated to Collegiate Degree of Honor; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Carol Sweeney was preceded in death by her
18parents, Henry and Margaret Boles; her brothers, Bob, Nick, and
19George Boles; and her sister, Katherine Kleinhenz; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Carol Sweeney is survived by her husband, Robert

1H. Sweeney; her daughter, Dianna (Dave) Jayne; her son, Joseph
2(Janice) Garman; her stepchildren, Jonna (Ron) Bieber and
3Robert Sweeney, Jr.; her grandchildren, Nina (Ryan) Lee, Brad
4Garman, Jamie Garman, Teresa Garman, Brandon Thompson, Jacob
5Hames, Andrew Hames, Megan Sweeney, and Kaitlyn Sweeney; her
6great-grandchildren, Brooke Garman, Jaxson Worm, and Jarod
7Aubert; her nephews, Jerry (Esther) Boles and Kevin (Cheryal)
8Boles; and many other nieces and nephews; therefore, be it
 
9    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
10ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
11Carol A. "Chippy" Sweeney, and extend our sincere condolences
12to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be
13it further
 
14    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
15presented to the family of Carol Sweeney as an expression of
16our deepest sympathy.
