SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Ann M. Aitken of Chicago, who passed away
4on February 18, 2016; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Ann Aitken was a stay-at-home mom for many years
6and enjoyed crafting, sewing, cooking, and baking; she later
7went to work at Motorola until her retirement; following her
8retirement, she went to daily Mass, mall walked at the H.I.P.,
9joined a Polka dancing group and a line dancing group, and had
10occasional luncheons with a senior group; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Ann Aitken was an avid volunteer; she was a Girl
12Scout leader; she collected for March of Dimes, sewed for
13Medical Mission, helped at Bingo, helped at the Salvation Army,
14and drove seniors to various appointments; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Ann Aitken was a parishioner at St. Priscilla
16Catholic Church since 1952 and was a member of the Blessed
17Virgin Mary Society; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Ann Aitken was preceded in death by her parents;
19her brother, Frank Scardino; her sister, Josephine Zeman; Earl
20Aitken; and her daughter, Nancy Thomas; and

1    WHEREAS, Ann Aitken is survived by her children, Mary
2(Everett) Benn, Dennis Aitken, and Diane (John) Ferraro; her 7
3grandchildren; her 15 great-grandchildren; her brothers,
4Samuel Scardino and Anthony (JoElaine) Scardino; and her 10
5nieces and nephews; therefore, be it
 
6    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
7ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with her
8family and friends, mourn the passing of Ann M. Aitken; and be
9it further
 
10    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
11presented to the family of Ann Aitken as an expression of our
12sympathy.
