SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of  Allan R. Kelley of Rock Island, who 
4passed away on February 17, 2016; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Allan Kelley was born on November 24, 1933, in 
6Manchester, Iowa; his parents were Junior George and Mildred 
7(nee Fowler) Kelley; he married Janice Hendricks on July 11, 
81953 in Moline; she passed away on December 20, 1988; he later 
9married Ruth Nelson on February 14, 1991 in Rock Island; and
  
 
10    WHEREAS, Allan Kelley served in the United States Army; and
  
 
11    WHEREAS, Allan Kelley was a machinist on the Rock Island 
12Arsenal, retiring as foreman in 1988; and
  
 
13    WHEREAS, Allan Kelley was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic 
14Church in Moline; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Allan Kelley enjoyed woodworking and building, 
16and was a perfectionist when doing projects for himself or 
17others; and
  
 
18    WHEREAS, Allan Kelley was preceded in death by his first 
19wife, Janice, and his siblings, Virgil, Annette, Douglas, and

1Carol; and
  
 
2    WHEREAS, Allan Kelley is survived by his wife, Ruth; his 
3children and their spouses, Mike Kelley, Stephen Kelley, Lynn 
4and David Goheen, Robert Nelson, and Julia and Jim Riley; his 
511 grandchildren; his 15 great-grandchildren; and his brother 
6and sister-in-law, Kurtis and Sharon Kelley; therefore, be it
  
 
7    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL 
8ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his 
9family and friends, mourn the passing of Allan R. Kelley; and 
10be it further
  
 
11    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
12presented to the family of Allan Kelley as an expression of our 
13sympathy.
