2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
3 | | learn of the death of Jenna Martin Seelbach of Springfield, who |
4 | | passed away on March 4, 2016; and
|
5 | | WHEREAS, Jenna Seelbach was born on August 12, 1978 in |
6 | | Springfield; her parents were Gary and Michele Martin Seelbach; |
7 | | she married Shawn Darr on May 10, 2007 in Santa Rosa Beach, |
8 | | Florida; and
|
9 | | WHEREAS, Jenna Seelbach was a graduate of Springfield High |
10 | | School and the St. John's College of Nursing, where she was the |
11 | | President of her class and a member of Sigma Theta Tau; and
|
12 | | WHEREAS, Jenna Seelbach worked as an Events Coordinator for |
13 | | the Crowne Plaza Hotel, a Legislative Assistant for the |
14 | | Illinois State Senate, and, most recently, a Clinical Research |
15 | | Specialist for the Southern Illinois University School of |
16 | | Medicine; and
|
17 | | WHEREAS, Jenna Seelbach enjoyed being a sponsor for the |
18 | | Make a Wish Foundation and a volunteer at Camp CoCo; and
|
19 | | WHEREAS, Jenna Seelbach is survived by her husband, Shawn |
20 | | Darr; her parents; her sisters, Angela (Michael) Agnich and |
|

1 | | Sadie (Karl) Samson; her aunts and uncles, Anne Martin Kearney, |
2 | | Mary Martin Dean, Gene Seelbach, Ginger Bensch, Gale and Keith |
3 | | Harms, Gloria Gietl, Gwen Jennings, Geoff Seelbach, and Geri |
4 | | and Roger Adams; her nieces, Maci and Ashlyn Agnich; her |
5 | | nephews, Andrew and Maximilian Samson; and her several cousins; |
6 | | and

7 | | WHEREAS, Jenna Seelbach was an inspiration to all of her |
8 | | family and friends, living every moment of life to its fullest |
9 | | and never taking anything for granted; and
|
10 | | WHEREAS, Jenna Seelbach's courage is a shining example to |
11 | | all and reminds us that no setback can withstand the conviction |
12 | | to overcome adversity; and |
13 | | WHEREAS, Jenna Seelbach's infectious laughter and |
14 | | unwavering positivity were matched only by her husband Shawn, |
15 | | who continues to carry on her bright legacy for all of us; and

16 | | WHEREAS, All of us are better people for having known Jenna |
17 | | Seelbach and are honored to be a part of her story; therefore, |
18 | | be it

20 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with her |
21 | | family and friends, mourn the passing of Jenna Martin Seelbach; |
