SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Jenna Martin Seelbach of Springfield, who
4passed away on March 4, 2016; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Jenna Seelbach was born on August 12, 1978 in
6Springfield; her parents were Gary and Michele Martin Seelbach;
7she married Shawn Darr on May 10, 2007 in Santa Rosa Beach,
8Florida; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Jenna Seelbach was a graduate of Springfield High
10School and the St. John's College of Nursing, where she was the
11President of her class and a member of Sigma Theta Tau; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Jenna Seelbach worked as an Events Coordinator for
13the Crowne Plaza Hotel, a Legislative Assistant for the
14Illinois State Senate, and, most recently, a Clinical Research
15Specialist for the Southern Illinois University School of
16Medicine; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Jenna Seelbach enjoyed being a sponsor for the
18Make a Wish Foundation and a volunteer at Camp CoCo; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Jenna Seelbach is survived by her husband, Shawn
20Darr; her parents; her sisters, Angela (Michael) Agnich and

1Sadie (Karl) Samson; her aunts and uncles, Anne Martin Kearney,
2Mary Martin Dean, Gene Seelbach, Ginger Bensch, Gale and Keith
3Harms, Gloria Gietl, Gwen Jennings, Geoff Seelbach, and Geri
4and Roger Adams; her nieces, Maci and Ashlyn Agnich; her
5nephews, Andrew and Maximilian Samson; and her several cousins;
6and
 
7    WHEREAS, Jenna Seelbach was an inspiration to all of her
8family and friends, living every moment of life to its fullest
9and never taking anything for granted; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Jenna Seelbach's courage is a shining example to
11all and reminds us that no setback can withstand the conviction
12to overcome adversity; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Jenna Seelbach's infectious laughter and
14unwavering positivity were matched only by her husband Shawn,
15who continues to carry on her bright legacy for all of us; and
 
16    WHEREAS, All of us are better people for having known Jenna
17Seelbach and are honored to be a part of her story; therefore,
18be it
 
19    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
20ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with her
21family and friends, mourn the passing of Jenna Martin Seelbach;
