SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Linda Joy Havens of Dahlonega, Georgia,
4who passed away on March 3, 2016; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Linda Havens was born in Woodstock to Clarence L.
6and Kathryn (McKnight) Roush on August 24, 1943; she grew up in
7Woodstock, where she had fond memories of horses, dogs, pet
8pigs, and family vacations to the family cabin in Birchwood,
9Wisconsin; she graduated from Woodstock High School in 1961; in
10her early twenties, she and her best friend, Sally McConnell,
11were in a bowling league at Edgetown Bowling Lanes when she met
12a Korean War veteran, Gerald L. Beckus, and they married in
131967; she married Robert "Bob" Havens in 1977; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Linda Havens began working at Oak Industries in
15Crystal Lake; she was also a pharmacy technician at Woodstock
16Memorial Hospital; she later worked for the McHenry County
17schools as a crossing guard and in food service; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Linda Havens moved to the mountains of Dahlonega,
19Georgia after the passing of her husband to be closer to her
20twin brother and daughter; she enjoyed spending time with her
21family, listening to music, and had a soft spot for any and all
22animals; she had many friends in Dahlonega, where she

1frequented the old Huddle House; and
 
2    WHEREAS, Linda Havens was preceded in death by her parents;
3her ex-husband, Gerald Beckus; and her second husband, Robert
4D. Havens; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Linda Havens is survived by her loving daughter,
6Jeralyn (Chuck) Forcier; her three grandchildren, Jake, Jenna,
7and Olivia Forcier; her twin brother, Larry J. (Anita) Roush;
8her brothers, Richard W. (Marsha) Roush and Robert Roush; her
9uncle, Russell (Isabel) Roush; her stepsons, Shane and Steven
10Havens; and her nieces and nephews; therefore, be it
 
11    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
12ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
13Linda Joy Havens, and extend our sincere condolences to her
14family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
15further
 
16    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
17presented to the family of Linda Havens as an expression of our
18deepest sympathy.
