| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 | | learn of the death of Linda Joy Havens of Dahlonega, Georgia, |
| 4 | | who passed away on March 3, 2016; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Linda Havens was born in Woodstock to Clarence L. |
| 6 | | and Kathryn (McKnight) Roush on August 24, 1943; she grew up in |
| 7 | | Woodstock, where she had fond memories of horses, dogs, pet |
| 8 | | pigs, and family vacations to the family cabin in Birchwood, |
| 9 | | Wisconsin; she graduated from Woodstock High School in 1961; in |
| 10 | | her early twenties, she and her best friend, Sally McConnell, |
| 11 | | were in a bowling league at Edgetown Bowling Lanes when she met |
| 12 | | a Korean War veteran, Gerald L. Beckus, and they married in |
| 13 | | 1967; she married Robert "Bob" Havens in 1977; and
|
| 14 | | WHEREAS, Linda Havens began working at Oak Industries in |
| 15 | | Crystal Lake; she was also a pharmacy technician at Woodstock |
| 16 | | Memorial Hospital; she later worked for the McHenry County |
| 17 | | schools as a crossing guard and in food service; and
|
| 18 | | WHEREAS, Linda Havens moved to the mountains of Dahlonega, |
| 19 | | Georgia after the passing of her husband to be closer to her |
| 20 | | twin brother and daughter; she enjoyed spending time with her |
| 21 | | family, listening to music, and had a soft spot for any and all |
| 22 | | animals; she had many friends in Dahlonega, where she |
