2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
3 | | learn of the death of Emmett "Joe" Williams of Collinsville, |
4 | | who passed away on March 22, 2016; and
|
5 | | WHEREAS, Emmett Williams was born on October 8, 1943 in |
6 | | Granite City; his parents were John Harold and Jeanette "Jean" |
7 | | Williams; he married Barbara Sedabres on March 9, 1988, in St. |
8 | | Louis, Missouri; and
|
9 | | WHEREAS, Emmett Williams worked at American Steel for 25 |
10 | | years and retired from Granite City Steel after 22 years of |
11 | | dedicated service as a millwright; and
|
12 | | WHEREAS, Emmett Williams served the Granite City community |
13 | | as a former fire and police commissioner and a precinct |
14 | | committeeman; he was also a former Cubmaster with the Boy |
15 | | Scouts of America and a member of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church |
16 | | in Granite City; and |
17 | | WHEREAS, Emmett Williams enjoyed working bingo and |
18 | | spending time with his family and friends; and
|
19 | | WHEREAS, Emmett Williams was preceded in death by his |
20 | | parents; and
|

1 | | WHEREAS, Emmett Williams is survived by his beloved wife, |
2 | | Barbara; his children and their spouses, John and Gay Williams, |
3 | | David and Debbie Williams, Molly and Garrett Mullen, and Edward |
4 | | and Amy Morton; his grandchildren, Joshua and Kathy Williams, |
5 | | Jeremiah Williams, Zechariah Williams, Benjamin Williams, |
6 | | Connor Mullen, MaKenna Mullen, and Aiden Morton; his |
7 | | great-grandchild, Caleb Williams; his brother and |
8 | | sister-in-law, Jerry and Bonnie Williams; his many nieces and |
9 | | nephews; and his many other extended family members and |
10 | | friends; therefore, be it

11 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL |
12 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his |
13 | | family and friends, mourn the passing of Emmett "Joe" Williams; |
14 | | and be it further

15 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
16 | | presented to the family of Emmett Williams as an expression of |
17 | | our sympathy.
