SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of Edwin D. James of East Moline, who passed 
4away on March 16, 2016; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Edwin James was born in Iowa City, Iowa to Clell 
6and Mildred Curnes James on September 18, 1937; he served as a 
7paratrooper in the United States Army with the 101st Airborne 
8Division; and
  
 
9    WHEREAS, Edwin James retired from John Deere Harvester in  
10East Moline in 1997, after 38 years of service; and
  
 
11    WHEREAS, Edwin James enjoyed hunting, fishing, and 
12gardening; he was an avid Chicago Cubs, Chicago Bears, and Iowa 
13Hawkeye fan; and
  
 
14    WHEREAS, Edwin James was preceded in death by his parents; 
15his sister, Esther; and his brothers, Kenneth and Everett; and
  
 
16    WHEREAS, Edwin James is survived by his children, Timothy 
17James (Lori "Harley" Abraham), Lisa (Patrick) Wilson, and John 
18James (Damie Anderson); his grandchildren, Alan (Liz) Rasso, 
19Amy (Adam) Blair, Collin James, Lindy James, Alexander James, 
20Joseph James, Adrianna Brown, and Christopher Gillette; and his

1great-grandchildren, Liam, Jaxson, Aiden, Ava, Jona, and 
2Elijah; therefore, be it
  
 
3    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL 
4ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of 
5Edwin D. James, and extend our sincere condolences to his 
6family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it 
7further
  
 
8    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
9presented to  the family of  Edwin James as an expression of our 
10deepest sympathy.
