SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Robert W. Wells of Cordova, who passed
4away on March 20, 2016; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Robert Wells was born on December 31, 1923 in Port
6Byron; his parents were Walter and Alice Wells; he married Lois
7Kincaid on August 10, 1946 in Wheatland, Iowa; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Robert Wells served in the United States Navy
9during World War II; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Robert Wells worked in the family business as a
11timber buyer for more than 40 years; he and his wife also
12founded, built, and operated Byron Hills Golf Course in the
13early 1960s; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Robert Wells enjoyed woodworking, restoring
15antique furniture, fishing, history, and spending time with his
16family; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Robert Wells was preceded in death by his parents;
18his brothers, Dale, Warren, Walter, and Royal; and his sisters,
19Ruth O'Donnell and Lois Vickroy; and

1    WHEREAS, Robert Wells is survived by his wife of 69 years,
2Lois; his children, Bob (Pam) Wells, Connie (Lon) Laleman,
3Walter (Linda) Wells, and Jeanette (Walter) Graham; his 20
4grandchildren; his 16 great-grandchildren; his two great-great
5grandchildren; and his sister, Joyce Billingsley; therefore,
6be it
 
7    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
8ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his
9family and friends, mourn the passing of Robert W. Wells; and
10be it further
 
11    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
12presented to the family of Robert Wells as an expression of our
13sympathy.
