SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Alexander Peter Aldrian of Milan, who passed away on March 26, 2016; and

WHEREAS, Alexander Aldrian was born on July 26, 1936, in Sewickley, Pennsylvania; his parents were Alexius and Marie Mihalik Aldrian; he married Joan Victoria Debogovich on September 27, 1958 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Ambridge, Pennsylvania; and

WHEREAS, Alexander Aldrian graduated from Ambridge High School and Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, where he earned his degree in metallurgical engineering; and

WHEREAS, After graduation, Alexander Aldrian worked in New Haven, Connecticut, where he engineered naval nuclear reactors before serving in the United States Army; and

WHEREAS, Alexander Aldrian became a registered professional engineer in Illinois in 1969; he was stationed at the Rock Island Arsenal for three years before working at the Arsenal in engineering and engineering management; he retired in March of 1988 after 31 years of service; and

WHEREAS, Alexander Aldrian was an active member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church in various capacities for many years; he enjoyed shooting on the Army Pistol Team while he was in the service, woodworking, camping, and reading; he was also an active ham radio operator for several years; and

WHEREAS, Alexander Aldrian was preceded in death by his daughter, Joan Carol; his son, Mark Alan; and his parents; and

WHEREAS, Alexander Aldrian is survived by his wife of 57 years, Joan; his daughter, Laura Aldrian; and his granddaughter, Elise Lampella; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his family and friends, mourn the passing of Alexander Peter Aldrian; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Alexander Aldrian as an expression of our sympathy.
