SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of Charles J. McCormick of Colona, who 
4passed away on March 21, 2016; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Charles McCormick was born in Astoria to Ralph and 
6Fern Derry McCormick on April 12, 1926; he served in the United 
7States  Army during World War II and married Dorothy L. Johnson 
8in Rock Island on August 10, 1949; and
  
 
9    WHEREAS, Charles McCormick retired in 1985 after 49 years 
10of service at the Rock Island Arsenal; and
  
 
11    WHEREAS, Charles McCormick was a coach for the Dodger Dad's 
12Club baseball team for 16 years; he also enjoyed hunting and 
13fishing, small engine repairs, and woodworking; and
  
 
14    WHEREAS, Charles McCormick was preceded in death by his 
15wife, Dorothy; his parents; his daughter, Linda Littlefield; 
16and his son, Jeff; and
  
 
17    WHEREAS, Charles McCormick is survived by his daughters, 
18Nancy Lugwig, Cindy (Mick) Painter, and Margaret Gardner (Pete 
19Jarvis); his son, Richard (Frances) McCormick; his 10 
20grandchildren; his 12 great-grandchildren; his three

1great-great-grandchildren; his sisters, Virginia McCombs, 
2Shirley Dicroce, and Josephine James; and his  brother, Dorvan 
3McCormick; therefore, be it
  
 
4    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL 
5ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of 
6Charles J. McCormick, and extend our sincere condolences to his 
7family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it 
8further
  
 
9    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
10presented to  the family of  Charles McCormick as an expression 
11of our deepest sympathy.
