SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of  Robert Dale Sherman, Sr. of Gillespie, 
4who passed away on March 28, 2016; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Robert Sherman, Sr. was born on September 16, 1951 
6in Litchfield; his parents were Roy S. "Sadie" Sherman and 
7Dorothy Sherman; he married Betty Enrici on September 16, 1972 
8in Gillespie; and
  
 
9    WHEREAS, Robert Sherman, Sr. was a graduate of Gillespie 
10High School with the Class of 1970 and a member of the Croatian 
11Fraternal Union Lodge 217; and
  
 
12    WHEREAS, Robert Sherman, Sr. and his brother Roy were the 
13owners and operators of the Superbowl of Gillespie, which was 
14started by their parents in 1959; and
  
 
15    WHEREAS, Robert Sherman, Sr. was a member of the Army 
16National Guard of Litchfield and the Air National Guard of 
17Springfield for 24 1/2 years; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Robert Sherman, Sr. was an avid St. Louis 
19Cardinals fan and enjoyed spending time with his family; and

1    WHEREAS, Robert Sherman, Sr. was preceded in death by his 
2father; and
  
 
3    WHEREAS, Robert Sherman, Sr. is survived by his mother; his 
4wife, Betty Sherman; his sons, Robert (Elise) Sherman and Brian 
5(Dominique) Sherman; his grandson, Brock Sherman; and his 
6brother, Roy (Vicki) Sherman; therefore, be it
  
 
7    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL 
8ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his 
9family and friends, mourn the passing of Robert Dale Sherman, 
10Sr.; and be it further
  
 
11    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
12presented to the family of Robert Sherman, Sr. as an expression 
13of our sympathy.
