SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of Roy W. Giacomelli of Ladd, who passed 
4away on March 23, 2016; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Roy Giacomelli was born at home in Ladd to Jerome 
6and Pearl (Muratori) Giacomelli on December  5, 1924; he served 
7with the United States Army Air Corps and married Edna Meyer on 
8June 7, 1951; and
  
 
9    WHEREAS, Roy Giacomelli worked for the Burlington Northern 
10Railroad for more than 36 years, retiring in 1984; and
  
 
11    WHEREAS, Roy Giacomelli was a member of the Ladd Fire 
12Department, the Ladd American Legion, the Spring Valley Knights 
13of Columbus, St. Benedicts Church, and the Bureau County 
14Republican Central Committee for more than 60 years; his 
15greatest joy was his family; and
  
 
16    WHEREAS, Roy Giacomelli was preceded in death by his wife, 
17Edna; his two sisters, Bertha Giacomelli and Genevieve Jane; 
18and his three brothers, Geno, Ado, and Ronald Giacomelli; and
  
 
19    WHEREAS, Roy Giacomelli is survived by his daughter, Lynne 
20(Richard) Ouellette; his  two sons, Roy Giacomelli Jr. and Gary

1(Cristine) Giacomelli; and his five grandchildren; therefore, 
2be it
  
 
3    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL 
4ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of 
5Roy W. Giacomelli, and extend our sincere condolences to his 
6family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it 
7further
  
 
8    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
9presented to  the family of  Roy Giacomelli as an expression of 
10our deepest sympathy.
