SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Joseph F. Cantore, who passed away on
4April 5, 2016; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Joseph Cantore was born to Frank P. and Elizabeth
6Cantore in 1931; he became a carpenter by trade and learned the
7basics of the business by his father's side; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Joseph Cantore served in the 1st Marine Division
9during the Korean War; he came home to continue and expand his
10father's business, first moving houses which were in the way of
11the construction of the Eisenhower Expressway; he went on to
12become a general contractor of industrial, commercial, and
13multi-family residential properties and the owner of a
14coin-operated laundry route in the Chicagoland area; Cantore
15and Company has been in continuous operation since 1890; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Joseph Cantore donated generously to many
17charities including those benefitting children, the elderly,
18people with disabilities, people suffering from cancer,
19Alzheimer's disease, and a host of other illnesses; he was also
20an ardent supporter of many veterans organizations; he had a
21true passion for giving back and helping others in need; and

1    WHEREAS, Joseph Cantore was involved in and supported
2numerous organizations, including Visitation Catholic Church,
3Elmhurst; the First Marine Division Association; the Veterans
4of Foreign Wars; the American Legion; the Antique Automobile
5Association of America; the Classic Car Club of America;
6Vintage Sports Car Club; the Mercedes-Benz Club of America; the
7Delahaye Automobile Club; the Bugatti Automobile Club;
8Gullwing Group International; and the A.T.A.; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Joseph Cantore was preceded in death by his
10parents and his brother, Robert Lupella; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Joseph Cantore was the beloved husband of 58 years
12of Angela (Lupella); the loving father of Joseph F. III
13(Jaclyn) Cantore; the dear grandfather of Joseph; the fond
14brother-in-law of Michelle (Robin) James; and the uncle of
15Courtney (Eric) Beall, Jessica (Joseph) Jackson, Teresa
16(Donald) Farnsworth, and Robert (Julie) Lupella; therefore, be
17it
 
18    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
19ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
20Joseph F. Cantore, and extend our sincere condolences to his
21family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
