SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Robert W. Hagen of Spring Grove, who
4passed away on March 29, 2016; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Robert Hagen was born in Chicago to Alfred and
6Angeline (Stein) Hagen on March 31, 1949; he enlisted in the
7United States Navy in 1968 and was sent to Vietnam in 1970; he
8was honorably discharged in 1974 as an Electronics Technician
9(Radar) Petty Officer 3rd Class; he married Ilona Semper on
10July 6, 1974; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Robert Hagen worked for Lincoln Glass in Chicago
12as a window glazier; he later worked for a financial company as
13a computer programmer; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Robert Hagen loved working with computers,
15radios, and ham radios; he had an extraordinary interest in
16space and astronomy; much of his free time was spent
17woodworking and building furniture for his family; he was a
18very loving husband and father and a doting grandfather; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Robert Hagen was preceded in death by his parents;

1    WHEREAS, Robert Hagen is survived by his wife, Ilona; his
2daughter, Amanda Hagen; his son, Scott (Kim Schmitt) Hagen; and
3his granddaughter, Arya Hagen; therefore, be it
 
4    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
5ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
6Robert W. Hagen, and extend our sincere condolences to his
7family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
8further
 
9    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
10presented to the family of Robert Hagen as an expression of our
11deepest sympathy.
