SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Patricia M. Moore, who passed away on March 13, 2016; and

WHEREAS, Patricia Moore was born on September 27, 1923 in Rice Lake, Wisconsin; her parents were William and Luella McLaughlin; she married Maynard L. Moore on April 24, 1943; and

WHEREAS, After graduating from high school, Patricia Moore attended the Milwaukee School of Business, where she earned a degree in business administration, specializing in office equipment and bookkeeping; she had a long and varied career, most recently at the Harvard State Bank, where she held several positions over a 20-year period, including Executive Secretary and Trust Officer; and

WHEREAS, Patricia Moore was very active in her community and church; she was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary, the Harvard Hospital Auxiliary, and the Harvard Women of the Moose, where she served as Senior Regent; she served as secretary of the Mt. Auburn Cemetery Association; following her retirement, she volunteered at the food pantry and worked with Reading Pairs in the Harvard elementary schools; and

WHEREAS, Patricia Moore was a lifelong member of the First Presbyterian Church in Harvard, where she served on the Board of Deacons and did volunteer work in the church office; and

WHEREAS, Patricia Moore enjoyed dancing and socializing with her husband, cooking, and making beautiful clothes for her daughter and her friends' daughters; she also loved to travel and made several memorable trips to Europe to visit her daughter and son-in-law in Rambouillet, France; and

WHEREAS, Patricia Moore was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Maynard; her sister-in-law, Catherine Klapel; and her niece, Bonnie Schmit; and

WHEREAS, Patricia Moore is survived by her daughter, Barbara (Francis) Tesse; her nephews, Michael Moore and Alan Akey; her great-niece; and her 3 great-nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with her family and friends, mourn the passing of Patricia M. Moore; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Patricia Moore as an expression of our sympathy.
