| 1 | SENATE RESOLUTION

| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
| 3 | learn of the death of Patricia M. Moore, who passed away on | ||||||
| 4 | March 13, 2016; and
| ||||||
| 5 | WHEREAS, Patricia Moore was born on September 27, 1923 in | ||||||
| 6 | Rice Lake, Wisconsin; her parents were William and Luella | ||||||
| 7 | McLaughlin; she married Maynard L. Moore on April 24, 1943; and
| ||||||
| 8 | WHEREAS, After graduating from high school, Patricia Moore | ||||||
| 9 | attended the Milwaukee School of Business, where she earned a | ||||||
| 10 | degree in business administration, specializing in office | ||||||
| 11 | equipment and bookkeeping; she had a long and varied career, | ||||||
| 12 | most recently at the Harvard State Bank, where she held several | ||||||
| 13 | positions over a 20-year period, including Executive Secretary | ||||||
| 14 | and Trust Officer; and
| ||||||
| 15 | WHEREAS, Patricia Moore was very active in her community | ||||||
| 16 | and church; she was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars | ||||||
| 17 | Auxiliary, the Harvard Hospital Auxiliary, and the Harvard | ||||||
| 18 | Women of the Moose, where she served as Senior Regent; she | ||||||
| 19 | served as secretary of the Mt. Auburn Cemetery Association; | ||||||
| 20 | following her retirement, she volunteered at the food pantry | ||||||
| 21 | and worked with Reading Pairs in the Harvard elementary | ||||||
| 22 | schools; and
| ||||||

| 1 | WHEREAS, Patricia Moore was a lifelong member of the First | ||||||
| 2 | Presbyterian Church in Harvard, where she served on the Board | ||||||
| 3 | of Deacons and did volunteer work in the church office; and
| ||||||
| 4 | WHEREAS, Patricia Moore enjoyed dancing and socializing | ||||||
| 5 | with her husband, cooking, and making beautiful clothes for her | ||||||
| 6 | daughter and her friends' daughters; she also loved to travel | ||||||
| 7 | and made several memorable trips to Europe to visit her | ||||||
| 8 | daughter and son-in-law in Rambouillet, France; and | ||||||
| 9 | WHEREAS, Patricia Moore was preceded in death by her | ||||||
| 10 | parents; her husband, Maynard; her sister-in-law, Catherine | ||||||
| 11 | Klapel; and her niece, Bonnie Schmit; and
| ||||||
| 12 | WHEREAS, Patricia Moore is survived by her daughter, | ||||||
| 13 | Barbara (Francis) Tesse; her nephews, Michael Moore and Alan | ||||||
| 14 | Akey; her great-niece; and her 3 great-nephews; therefore, be | ||||||
| 15 | it

| 16 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL | ||||||
| 17 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with her | ||||||
| 18 | family and friends, mourn the passing of Patricia M. Moore; and | ||||||
| 19 | be it further
| ||||||
| 20 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
