SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Jane Brodie Eisenhour of Iowa City, Iowa,
4formerly of Geneva, who passed away on March 24, 2016; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Jane Eisenhour was born on August 31, 1931 in
6Highland Park; her parents were James and Bessie Philip; she
7married Frederic William Brodie, MD on November 27, 1954 at the
8Church of the Holy Spirit in Lake Forest; he passed away in
91966; she married Bert Earl Eisenhour, Jr. on June 17, 1978;
10and
 
11    WHEREAS, Jane Eisenhour graduated from Lake Forest High
12School and attended Albion College, St. Luke's Hospital School
13of Nursing, and the University of Illinois, where she earned
14her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Jane Eisenhour worked at the Copley Hospital
16School of Nursing in Aurora as an instructor of
17medical-surgical nursing; she was also a co-owner of The Photo
18Shop in downtown St. Charles and served as a realtor for Baird
19and Warner; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Jane Eisenhour was a member of St. Mark's
21Episcopal Church in Geneva for over 50 years; she was a member

1of the Zeta Tau Alpha Sorority, the Young Mothers Club, the
2Geneva Garden Club, and the board of directors for Delnor
3Community Hospital and the Geneva Golf Club; she was also named
4a Paul Harris Fellow by the Rotary Foundation of Rotary
5International; and
 
6    WHEREAS, Jane Eisenhour was preceded in death by her
7parents and her first husband, Frederic; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Jane Eisenhour is survived by her husband of 37
9years, Bert; her children, Frederic (Susan) Brodie, Jr., Janet
10(Terrance) Riley, Susan (Robert) Burns, and Patricia (Scott)
11Sarver; her stepson, Bert (Judy) Eisenhour III; her
12grandchildren, Blair and Connor Brodie, Andrew and Philip
13Riley, Catherine, Elizabeth, and David Burns, and Matthew,
14Louise, and Thomas Sarver; and her brother, James (Gail)
15Philip, Jr.; therefore, be it
 
16    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
17ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with her
18family and friends, mourn the passing of Jane Brodie Eisenhour;
19and be it further
 
20    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
21presented to the family of Jane Eisenhour as an expression of
22our sympathy.
