| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 | | learn of the death of Otto E. Ehm of Rock Island, who passed |
| 4 | | away on April 24, 2016; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Otto Ehm was born on June 30, 1929; his parents |
| 6 | | were Otto and Friederika Ehm; he married Beverly Bayness on |
| 7 | | June 29, 1950; she passed away on April 2, 1976; he later |
| 8 | | married LaDema Andrews on August 27, 1977; she passed away on |
| 9 | | June 18, 1994; and
|
| 10 | | WHEREAS, After finishing high school, Otto Ehm enlisted in |
| 11 | | the United States Marine Corps; he was later employed as an |
| 12 | | equipment specialist with the United States Army Weapons |
| 13 | | Command at the Rock Island Arsenal, where he retired in |
| 14 | | February of 1988 after 38 years of service; and
|
| 15 | | WHEREAS, Otto Ehm enjoyed golfing, working out at the Rock |
| 16 | | Island Fitness and Activity Center, traveling, dancing, |
| 17 | | reading, and attending the sporting events of his grandchildren |
| 18 | | and great-grandchildren; he was also an avid St. Louis |
| 19 | | Cardinals fan; and |
| 20 | | WHEREAS, Otto Ehm was a member of the Moline American |
| 21 | | Legion Post 246, the Polka Club of Iowa, the Mississippi Valley |

| 1 | | Country Music Association, and the National Association of |
| 2 | | Retired Federal Employees; and
|
| 3 | | WHEREAS, Otto Ehm was preceded in death by his parents; his |
| 4 | | sister, Mary Margaret; his first wife, Beverly; and his second |
| 5 | | wife, LaDema; and
|
| 6 | | WHEREAS, Otto Ehm is survived by his son, William (Pam) |
| 7 | | Ehm; his stepdaughters, Barbara (Bill) Esp, Cheryl (Steve) |
| 8 | | Osborne, and Diane (Jim) Bailey; his step-grandchildren, Megan |
| 9 | | (Abe), Matthew, Danielle (Kevin), Derek, Lindsey, and Andrew; |
| 10 | | his grandchildren, DeAnna Bush, Angella (Lance) Dieterich, and |
| 11 | | Aaron Ehm; his great-grandchildren, Cheyenne, Cody, and Cierra |
| 12 | | Bush and Lane, Billie, and Taylor Dieterich; and his special |
| 13 | | friend, Joyce Geiger; therefore, be it
|
| 14 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL |
| 15 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his |
| 16 | | family and friends, mourn the passing of Otto E. Ehm; and be it |
| 17 | | further

| 18 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
| 19 | | presented to the family of Otto Ehm as an expression of our |
| 20 | | sympathy.
