SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of John Douglas Behme of Worden, who passed
4away on April 29, 2016; and
 
5    WHEREAS, John Behme was born in Alton to John and Gail
6(Seeger) Behme on May 26, 1971; he attended Trinity Lutheran
7School in Worden and graduated from Edwardsville High School in
81989; he married Angela M. Redman at Trinity Lutheran Church in
9Worden on September 7, 1996; and
 
10    WHEREAS, John Behme became an Operating Engineer at age 19
11and worked for Tom Allen Construction in Edwardsville; he then
12worked for Keller Construction in Edwardsville for 14 years;
13and
 
14    WHEREAS, John Behme was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church
15in Worden and Operating Engineers Local 520 in Granite City; he
16enjoyed hunting, fishing, travelling, and hiking with his
17family; he and his son, Nick, restored old cars; he truly loved
18spending time with his family; and
 
19    WHEREAS, John Behme was preceded in death by his
20stepmother, Mary Ellen (Watsek) Behme; his maternal
21grandfather, Charles D. "Duke" Seeger; his paternal

1grandparents, Edwin and Helen (Neuhaus) Behme; and his best
2friend, Scott Cunningham; and
 
3    WHEREAS, John Behme is survived by his wife, Angela; his
4son, Nicholas Scott Behme; his daughter, Brooke Taylor Behme;
5his father, John W. Behme; his mother, Gail A. (Keith) (Seeger)
6Behme-Opel; his sister, Leann (Daniel) Behme Eckhardt; his
7niece, Ashley Eckhardt; his niece, Alicia Eckhardt; his nephew,
8Dillon Redman; his nephew, Chris McCoy; his father and
9mother-in-law, James L. and Jeannie S. (Harty) McCoy; his
10maternal grandmother, Mildred L. Seeger; his sister-in-law,
11Kimberly McCoy; his brother-in-law, Vince Redman; his
12brother-in-law, Shane (Debbie) McCoy; his paternal
13grandmother-in-law, Ann Redman; and many aunts, uncles,
14cousins, stepbrothers, and stepsisters; therefore, be it
 
15    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
16ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
17John Douglas Behme, and extend our sincere condolences to his
18family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
19further
 
20    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
21presented to the family of John Behme as an expression of our
22deepest sympathy.
