SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of David J. Zarn of Geneva, who passed away
4on April 20, 2016; and
 
5    WHEREAS, David Zarn graduated from Downers Grove High
6School in 1961 and was inducted into the United States Army in
71965, serving in Vietnam; he married Kathleen Zeni at the Fox
8Valley Presbyterian Church in Geneva in 1989; and
 
9    WHEREAS, David Zarn acquired and ran several laundromats in
10the Downers Grove area; he later acquired a family hair salon
11in Arlington Heights, which he ran for many years; and
 
12    WHEREAS, David Zarn was devoted to his children's education
13and their extracurricular activities, including music, sports,
14and dance; he and his family were also very active at Glen
15Ellyn Bible Church, First Baptist Church of Geneva, and
16Valleybrook Community Church in Elburn; and
 
17    WHEREAS, David Zarn was preceded in death by his parents,
18Rudolph and Helen (Smart) Zarn; and
 
19    WHEREAS, David Zarn is survived by his wife of 27 years,
20Kathleen; his son, Adam (Alyssa) Zarn; his daughter, Anna Zarn;

1and his two siblings, Nancy Zarn and Roger Zarn; therefore, be
2it
 
3    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
4ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
5David J. Zarn, and extend our sincere condolences to his
6family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
7further
 
8    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
9presented to the family of David Zarn as an expression of our
10deepest sympathy.
